Top 10 YA Books to Read Before They Hit the Big Screen
Books are always so much better than the movie
Watching a movie is great, but reading the book before you see a movie is even better. How else are you going to know what the character is actually thinking, am I right? With this list, you'll be able to read the books before they come to your theater.
2. Looking for Alaska
We all know the success John Green has had, not only with his book, but also with the very popular movies. Whether you've watched The Fault in Our Stars or Paper Towns, everyone knows that this man will definitely turn more books into movies. The rights for Looking for Alaska have been sold to Paramount pictures, and hopefully we'll soon be able to see another John Green book come to life.
6. Let It Snow: Three Holiday Stories
Yes, another John Green book.... well what did you expect? This one will defintely make the big screen some time soon, and while the cast isn't known yet, the screenplay is written by Kay Cannon, who also wrote the screen play for Pitch Perfect. With a kick-ass screen play and John Green's name on it, this movie is bound to be a hit.
7. All the Bright Places
A charming love story about two troubled teenagers who save each other. The book reviewers have been crazy about this one, saying its one of the best contemporaries they've read. If that isn't enough to make you want to read it, the movie will be coming out some time in 2018, and will be starring Elle Fanning.
9. The Queen of the Tearling
This book series is absolutely amazing, especially if you love strong female characters. The best part, this movie is set to have Emma Watson play the main character. After Beauty and the Beast, we know that Emma can master any role, and the role of Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn will probably go down as one of her best.
10. Red Queen
If you haven't read this book, drop everything and go get a copy right now. This is one of my favourite series and I'm so glad that they want to make it into a movie. Directed by Elizabeth Banks, Mare Barrow will come to life as a Red blooded girl with magical powers, in a world where only silver blooded are allowed to have magic. An amazing book, and hopefully and even better movie.
