YA Books You Should Read This Summer

Tiffany of The Bookish Thought recommends 10 YA Books to be read this summer!

Are you planning to do a lot of reading this summer? If so, this list is for you! There are so many great books (both already published and soon-to-be published), and I hope this list will help you decide which one to read.

As always, if you need more recommendations, hit me up at my blog, The Bookish Thought!

1. Geekerella by Ashley Poston

I recently finished this one and it was so adorable! A retelling of Cinderella with a dash of fandoms and some twists, Geekerella would be a perfect book for summer. Especially if you're a fan of Star Wars and Star Trek, you do not want to miss this one!

2. The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

Don't be fooled by the title! This book has nothing to do with scorpions or anything. Rather, it's more about breathtaking journey of growing up and surviving. The Scorpio Races is truly one beautiful book.

3. P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

In my opinion, Kasie West is the queen of contemporary! I've read nearly all of her books, but my favorite so far is P.S. I Like You. It's a cute hate-to-love romance which will make you smile and grin all the time you read it!

4. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I'm not sure why I even include this book in the list because I'm pretty sure everyone HAS read it, but in case you haven't, well, you totally should read it!

5. Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum

A pen(email?)-pal romance which will leave you for more!

6. The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

The Girl from Everywhere is a time travel/pirate book which will take you to a lot of places and era (both fictional and real). Perfect to read in summer!

7. Second Chance Summer by Heidi Heilig

Also set in summer, this book is all about second chances -- in family, friendship, and love.

8. Summer Days and Summer Nights: Twelve Love Stories by Stephanie Perkins

A YA anthology with 12 love stories, all set in summer. There's all kind of genre here, fantasy, contemporary, magical realism, you name it!

9. My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

A comical, not-so-true retelling of Lady Jane Grey, the nine-day-queen of England. This book will make you laugh out loud!

10. The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett

This book definitely made it to my all time favorites list! Part funny and part heartbreaking, The Anatomical Shape of A Heart will take you on a journey across San Fransisco.
